"Smokey's True Identity"

This one's for the metal-heads. The other night I realized who Smokey is.....it's Eddie the mascot of Iron Maiden, of course! I don't know why I didn't think of it before (being a former metal-head/Iron Maiden fan myself), it's all so clear. We know that Eddie was once a mummy in ancient Egypt, and he's big, evil, vengeful, and a zombie.

OK, it's really time for me to re-watch the finale, I still haven't yet. :-o

OH! that explains it ALL

you might want to watch the movie Crowley (called Chemical Wedding in Europe) written by Bruce Dickinson Iron Maiden vocalist and I assume major songwriter, there’s a time travel element, it portrays Crowley as a bit of a pompous jerk which often is my opinion of him

Chemical Wedding movie

Bruce also wrote a book version which I really want to read

Chemical Wedding book

and BTW, Wayne, there is a L Ron Hubbard connection here

oh and of course we have another rendition of The Book of The Law here

Heheh, my opinion too about him (made himself a very big fish in a small pond -- Satanism). I recently bought the book Strange Angel, which is about Jack Parsons (co-creator of JPL labs!) and he hung out with L.Ron Hubbub and Crowley in L.A. They wife-swapped, competed with each other, and other weird stuff. link

I'll have to check that BD movie and/or book out. Tx!

P.S. and yeah, the Book of the Law there too. Ew.

i've wanted to read that book about Jack Parsons for awhile; he is a zillion times more fascinating than Crowley, IMHO

the movie, Crowley (Chemical Wedding) does mention Jack and the commentary said they couldn’t mention L Ron Hubbard because of threat of Scientology legal actions

oh AND the box they stick people in to feed memories into looks A LOT like dead Locke’s box, there’s some time travel talk as well

another interesting movie with a box and some time travel talk is Southland Tales, it’s a bit out there and very weird but i really enjoyed it, it’s scifi without the space opera which i really like

Southland Tales

for me i’m not much into Star Wars & Battlestar Galactic (i know, sacrilegious) but i’ll probably try the BG prequel Caprica

i really really liked both versions of Solaris and 2001 though

Yeah, at least Parsons was a rocket scientist.

Wow, lots of movies to check out, thanks! I did not even give the new BSG a chance, I hate it when they remake an old movie, change almost everything, and then still call it by the same name. WTH? The original BSG was so upbeat and hopeful, and this one seemed too dismal to me to even get into. :-p I know, not good.

Yes, the Lost Room was pretty freaky, I hope that it plays on SciFi again. I mean, SyFy....what the heck, SeeFee?!

BTW, in memory of Farrah this week I rewatched "Saturn 3". Not anything about time in it, or very intellectual, but a curious movie nonetheless. I've always been fascinated by the idea of being stuck at an outpost somewhere in space since I was a kid. Check out a neat old radio show about that here: link
